DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The new pedestrian bridge that crosses Central Expressway in North Dallas opened to the public on Tuesday.
City officials plan to hold a grand opening ceremony in a few weeks.
The bridge connects the Northaven Trail, west of Highway 75, to the Cottonwood Creek trail on the east side of the highway.
“It’s just so convenient,” said one cyclist. “And really, it’s a lot safer. Yes we’re crossing over a highway. But we don’t have to navigate anything to get across. We just can ride.”
For many residents of North Dallas, the long wait for a pedestrian bridge is over.
