(WBAP/KLIF) — After being honored by Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson on Wednesday, the Texas Rangers received a key to the city from Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker on Thursday.
The World Series Champions appeared at Billy Bob’s Texas for a ceremony displaying the Commissioner’s Trophy for fans. Team owner Ray Davis thanked fans for their patience with the franchise in winning their first title. Parker addressed Cowtown fans in attendance and celebrated with a concert before the ceremony. Texas pitcher Andrew Heaney along with MLB Hall-of-Famer Tom GrIeve were on hand to address the crowd.
Rangers Captain brought out a large birthday cake to celebrate Mayor Parker, who turned 40-years-old on Thursday. The Rangers also gifted parker a World Series hat and sweatshirt.
