WASHINGTON D.C. – (WBAP/KLIF) – The Senate has just passed legislation to temporarily fund the government and avoid a shutdown.
This bill is the continuing resolution that the House of Representatives passed earlier this morning. In addition to funding the federal government through mid-November, the bill also includes $16 billion in U.S. disaster relief. Funding for Ukraine was cut from the bill.
While the passing of this bill avoids a shutdown, it only temporarily funds the federal government for the next 45 days. If Congress fails to pass a long term budget before November 17th, another government shutdown is possible.
