Candlelight Vigil Monday Night for 6-Year-Old Boy Presumed Dead

(EVERMAN, WBAP/KLIF) After weeks investigating the disappearance of a six year old medically challenged Everman boy, city police now say the search has moved into an investigation of death. The child’s remains have not been discovered, but police say their investigation leads them to the conclusion Noel Rodriguez Alvarez is likely deceased.

Monday, TEXSAR is assisting Everman Police with ground area searches of nearby wooded areas to the east and north of the boy’s last residence (3700 Blk Wisteria Dr.). TEXSAR will be searching by foot, horseback, and drones. Crews will also be utilizing Human Remains Detection Canines in this area. Crews were briefed this morning at the Everman Civic Center, where the command post has been established.

The mother of the child is believed to have flown to India with Noel’s stepfather, accompanied by six of her other children, including twins under the age of one year. Noel was not listed on the plane’s passenger list, and the family appears to have departed to Turkey and then India within days of police beginning to inquire about Noel’s whereabouts.

Relatives indicated they hadn’t seen Noel since November of last year. The mother, 39-year old Cindy Rodriguez-Singh is reported to have told officials Noel was with his father in Mexico. Authorities say they spoke with the father in Mexico, who was deported before Noel was born, and that he stated he had not met the child and had not cared for him.

Police say the mother made statements she believed Noel was evil and possessed by a demon. Noel suffered from serious disabilities and was reported as appearing undernourished and in ill health at the time the mother last gave birth in October.

Witnesses are reported to have told police the child’s mother withheld food and water from Noel because she didn’t want to change his diapers. The mother and Noel’s stepfather lived in the back of an Everman home on Wisteria Drive.

A candlelight vigil on Noel’s behalf will be held at the Everman Civic Center on Monday at 8:30 pm.
