ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF) – School districts across North Texas are wrapping arms around Arlington’s Lamar High School this week after a shooting outside the school entrance that left one student dead and another hurt. The student suspect was arrested and is charged with Capital Murder. A potential motive is under investigation.
Prayer vigils are planned for Tuesday night inside Arlington churches. The services are being held at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and New World United Methodist Church.
School was canceled at Lamar High School on Tuesday, but classes resume Wednesday when counseling will be available.
Arlington ISD, and neighboring districts, are encouraging students and staff to wear Navy Blue and Gold to show support Lamar.
