FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News ) – State and local health officials are urging North Texans who are eligible to take advantage of a COVID-19 vaccine pop-up clinic in Fort Worth today.
The clinic is part of the Texas Department of State Health Service’s education campaign at select Walmart locations.
The push comes in the wake of recent data showing a drop in COVID vaccinations among children.
Tarrant County’s Assistant Medical Director Doctor Kenton Murthy said while kids have had less severe illness with COVID-19, a ripple effect still exists.
“Getting your children vaccinated for COVID-19 will decrease the spread and transmission of COVID-19 to their loved ones…like grandparents, their parents and their siblings who may become seriously ill,” he said.
The push also comes in the wake of recent data showing a drop in COVID-19 vaccinations among children.
“Studies show that there can be additional benefit and protection by getting after having COVID. I would strongly recommend that you talk to your pediatrician, doctor or local pharmacist about when you should get the vaccine” said Dr. Murthy.
The clinic is at the Walmart at Airport Freeway Monday, September 19, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
