Lake Worth Police Searching for Suspect who Stole Delivery Driver’s Vehicle with Four Kids Inside

LAKE WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News ) – Lake Worth Police are asking the public to help identify a suspect who stole a delivery driver’s vehicle with four children inside.

Investigators said the driver was picking up a food order at a spot near Boat Club Road and Rocky Point Trail on Friday when the theft occurred.

When she came outside, she noticed her car and her children were gone. That’s when Lake Worth police said a bystander stepped in to help.

“They hopped in the car and chased down the suspect. It wasn’t like a pursuit but they headed in the general direction and that’s when they found the car abandoned about a half mile away,” said Sergeant Sean Ferguson.

Shortly after the caper, the suspect ditched the vehicle and took off on foot. The driver’s children were unharmed.

The department is hoping the release of surveillance video of the suspect running through a parking lot may bring in some useful tips.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man with tattoos on his arms and a goatee. He was last seen running north on Boat Club Road.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Lake Worth Police at 817-237-1224 or email [email protected].
