Mansfield, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – In a tweet overnight, the Mansfield Police Department said that a driver crashed into a natural gas pipeline causing a massive fire that triggered evacuations and the closure of Highway 287 from Lonestar to FM 661 in Ellis County.
The driver of the vehicle suffered critical burns and was transported to Parkland Hospital.
The gas line has been shut off and and residents have been permitted to return to their homes.
