DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Disaster relief organizations in DFW expect their recovery efforts in Kentucky to continue for weeks following last weekend’s deadly tornadoes.
Texas Baptist Men deployed a refrigerated feeding unit to Murray, Kentucky on Tuesday.
“We had a call from the Kentucky feeding groups,” said Director David Wells. “When we go out to feed, a lot of time we are feeding out of at churches. The churches sometimes don’t have the refrigerator or freezer space.”
A TBM box truck also hit the road on Tuesday.
“We supply the homeowner boxes to pack up their supplies,” said Wells. “We will send chaplains with them as well, so we have someone to pray with them.”
Wells said more resources will be sent to Kentucky in days and weeks to come.
