Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – Tens of millions of dollars in COVID pandemic related rent assistance remains available to eligible households.
In Fort Worth alone, Terrance Jones, Interim Manager, with The City of Fort Worth Neighborhood Services with the city says a total of $60-million dollars is available through 2025. He says that the goal of this program is keeping families in their homes, and that they are raising awareness about the assistance program; as well as informing renters of how they can qualify.
Help is available for rent, past due rent, utilities, past due utility payments and other housing expenses resulting from the coronavirus outbreak.

Who can apply?
- Renters in eligible households.
- Landlords on behalf of eligible renters, with tenant approval.
Eligibility
- Renters in households with income at or below 80% of the Area Median Income (see chart below).
- One or more household member has qualified for unemployment, experienced a reduction in household income or experienced a financial hardship due to COVID-19; and
- Can demonstrate a risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
