Search Continues for Missing Fort Hood Soldier

FORT HOOD  (WBAP/KLIF News) – The search continues for a Fort Hood soldier who vanished last week.

The Fort Hood Directorate of Emergency Services said Spc. Abram Salas II has not been seen since Wednesday, June 23rd after he had failed to report to work.

DES said attempts to contact him be law enforcement, chain of command and his family have been unsuccessful.

The Directorate said that investigators believe that Salas left on his own accord and reliable credible information exists that he may be in the San Antonio area.

His family claims that a recent marriage may be a factor in his disappearance.

Salas’ aunt, Teresa Kiphen, told KWTX TV that he married a woman they never met five days before he vanished.

Salas is Hispanic, 5’6″ tall, with black hair and brown eyes.

He may be driving a 4-door, white Dodge DART with a Texas license plate NFP-2796.

Fort Hood DES said anyone with information related to the location of Spc. Salas or related to the conditions surrounding his disappearance should contact Fort Hood Military Police at (254) 288-1170.

Law enforcement will protect the privacy of those who wish to remain anonymous to the agree allowable under law.
