Dallas County Reduces COVID Risk Level for Unvaccinated Residents

(DCHHS)

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas County is loosening its COVID-19 guidance for unvaccinated residents.

If you’ve had your COVID shot in Dallas county guidance has returned to normal, but even if you haven’t the recommendations aren’t as strict. County Judge Clay Jenkins said Monday that a little over half of the eligible population in Dallas county has received at least one shot.

“So we’re getting there, and we’re getting their slowly,” said Judge Jenkins. “The doctors say we need to get to 70% to 80% to be at herd immunity.”

The county moved its risk level from “extreme caution” to “proceed carefully” for unvaccinated residents.

Jenkins said the county has gone from losing the battle to COVID, to trying to hold it steady, to winning it. But, he insisted the battle is not won yet.
