KERRVILLE (WBAP/KLIF News) – A Kerville man has been charged with making a terroristic threat in connection with an alleged plot to carry out a mass shooting at a Walmart.
The Kerr County Sheriff’s Office said the KCSO Special Operations Division intercepted a message indicating that 28-year-old Coleman Thomas Blevins’ was preparing to carry out the massacre.
KCSO, working with the FBI, confirmed Blevins capability of following through with the threat and moved immediately to arrest him.
After executing a search warrant at his home in the 200 block of Spence St., authorities found firearms, ammunition, electronic evidence, concentrated THC, radical ideology paraphernalia including Neo Nazi books, flags and handwritten documents.
Blevins is on an active felony probation and is prohibited from possessing firearms.
He’s booked into the Kerr County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
Blevins arrest was part of a seven-day joint investigation between the KCSO Special Operations Division, Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigation Division and the FBI.
Authorities said they believe Blevins is a threat to national security.
Kerr County Sheriff Larry Leitha said Blevins’ arrest is proof that the public needs to remain vigilant.
“Our investigators did outstanding work in this case, and possibly saved lives. The plot interrupted in this case is unthinkable. We appreciate the assistance of all of our law enforcement partners, including the FBI, DPS, KPD and Secret Service. We’d like to remind the public – if you see something, say something. The KCSO, working with other law enforcement professionals, will continue to stop threats to our community, and bring those responsible to prosecution,” he said.
