GRAYSON COUNTY (WBAP/KLIF News) – Police departments across North Texas are mourning the loss of an off-duty Celina police officer and his young daughter who were killed in a chain reaction crash Monday afternoon.
Celina city officials confirmed 33-year-old Detective KC Robinson and his six-year-old daughter Brynlee died at the scene.
The accident happened around 3:30 p.m. on Highway 567 just east of Whitesboro.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said several cars were stopped for a school bus that was dropping off kids, when a garbage truck came over a hill and hit the cars.
The crash caused a chain reaction involving at least five other vehicles.
Detective Robinson had been with the department for three years.
Local police departments across North Texas took to social media to express their support for the grieving family and Celina police.
