Two Dallas Police Officers Have Been Arrested On Unrelated Charges

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Two Dallas police officers were arrested Friday and Saturday in unrelated incidents.
Senior Cpl. Thomas Hartmann, who joined the department in January 2010, was charged with assault and tampering with a witness in connection with an unspecified incident that occurred March 6 in Aubrey. Hartmann turned himself in to the Denton County Sheriff’s Office on Friday. He has since posted bond and been released.
Senior Cpl. Terry Charles was arrested Saturday by Cedar Hill police on charges of driving while intoxicated and unlawfully carrying a weapon. Cedar Hill officers found Charles alone and apparently sleeping in a running car parked near a closed business close to Belt Line Road and U.S. Highway 67. The officers determined he was intoxicated, arrested him, and took him to the Tri-City Jail in DeSoto.
Both officers have been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of Dallas Police Department internal investigations.
Their arrests follow the recent arrest and firing of Dallas Officer Bryan Riser, who is charged with two counts of capital murder in connection with a pair of 2017 slayings.
