DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Two Dallas Police Officers are recovering in a local hospital after being shot while responding to a shooting Thursday in the 3500 block of Bonita Avenue, near the Knox Henderson area.
According to Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia, Dallas firefighters helped extract the Officers from the scene.
“Our fire department actually provided cover for our Police Officers to extract our wounded Officers out of the scene.” said Chief Garcia. I can’t thank them enough for that. Just continue to pray for our Officers that our wounded and the men and women of this Police department who continue to show up everyday regardless of the threat they may encounter.”
I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge the outstanding effort and split second decision of Dallas Fire Rescue @DallasFireRes_q , for providing cover to our wounded as they were extracted. Now THAT is true teamwork. Appreciate you!

It’s believed the Officers suffered non life-threatening injuries to their lower extremities.
Following a stand off, Police breached the location on Bonita Avenue and found a man and woman dead inside.
