Dallas County Predicting Over 1,000 New COVID-19 Cases on Friday

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF NEWS)- Dallas County health officials believe the number of new cases will rise significantly on Friday.

On Thursday, the county reported a record high of 708 new COVID-19 cases with seven new deaths. This brings the total number of cases to 22,590 with 387 deaths.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins is urging people to avoid large gatherings and going to public pools this holiday weekend.

“What the doctors are asking is that you find a way to celebrate this July fourth with only people you are around daily your family you roommates,” said Jenkins.

Jenkins also encouraged citizens to avoid bowling alleys, arcades, concerts, movie theaters, youth sports, and public pools even though they are not closed.

Dallas County Health Director Dr. Phil Huang warned the county will report more than 1,000 new cases Friday.
