Dallas Mayor Hosts Two-Day Virtual Job Fair

DALLAS  (WBAP/KLIF News) – North Texans who find themselves out of work due to the COVID-19 pandemic or for other reasons are invited to take part in the City of Dallas’ virtual job fair.

Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson is hosting the event powered by Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas.

The two-day event kicked off Tuesday morning from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Participants will have access to more than two dozen employers who are looking to fill almost 1600 part-time, temporary and full-time positions that pay anywhere from $14 to $40 an hour.

It’s an event that comes at a time when a record number of Texans have filed for unemployment benefits amid the pandemic.

More than 2.2 million Texans filed for jobless aid in the past ten weeks, raising the unemployment rate to 12.8 percent.
