(WBAP/KLIF) – AUSTIN, TX – Paxton’s campaign will challenge long-time Senator John Cornyn, who has served four consecutive terms since he was elected in 2002. Cornyn who officially announced his re-election campaign in March has faced criticism for his work on a bipartisan gun safety bill and his support for Ukraine. Ken Paxton was elected as the 51st attorney general of Texas in 2014 and has served three consecutive terms since he was sworn in. Since he is running for federal office, Paxton will be able to retain his position as attorney general.
