(WBAP/KLIF) – AUSTIN, TX – Governor Greg Abbott has directed the Texas Division of Emergency Management to activate state emergency response resources ahead of the severe winter weather expected to impact the state later this week. According to the National Weather Service, some areas of the state may face disruptive snow, ice, and freezing rain, causing potentially hazardous travel conditions. Tex-Dot personnel prepared for the winter weather by pre-treating roads, bridges, and overpasses with over 500-thousand gallons of brine and approximately 800 cubic yards of granular material.
