DFW’s Morning News-Dallas HERO Accuses Hiring Firm of Intentionally “not Assembling Good Candidates”

The Dallas based group HERO says the firm tasked with selecting candidates for the City Manager position is being asked to fix the process.

“I have it on good authority that the search firm has actually been instructed to not assemble good candidates,” said HERO CEO Monty Bennett. “So that by comparison [Kim] Tolbert looks great. So, they are just operating out of their playbook to get what they want.”

Kim Tolbert is the current City Manager and is one of four candidates named as finalists by search firm Baker Tilly.

City Council members voiced disappointment with the process during Wednesday’s meeting.

When asked to comment, the City of Dallas referred DFW’s Morning News to Baker Tilly.

“Thank you for reaching out. As a matter of policy, Baker Tilly does not comment on matters involving our clients,” the company said in an email to KLIF.
