DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News ) – The Michelin Guide has announced its first-ever list of the best restaurants in Texas.
At Monday night’s ceremony, just one DFW-area restaurant received a highly-coveted Michelin star, Tatsu Dallas.
The exclusive Deep Ellum sushi restaurant hosts just two seatings, five nights a week, with only 10 counter seats.
28 North Texas restaurants were honored at the ceremony.
Texas is now the 11th Michelin guide destination in North America. Other restaurants in Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio and Houston were featured in the guide.
The Michelin stars are considered the most prestigious awards in the culinary world. Recipients can win up to three stars.
One star is awarded to restaurants with high-quality cooking and is worth a visit. Two stars are given to restaurants featuring excellent cooking and is worth a stop even if its out of your way.
Three stars are handed out to restaurants offering exceptional cuisine and is considered an experience worth dedicating a trip around the eatery.
