TARRANT COUNTY (WBAP/KLIF News ) – The trial is underway for a suspected serial killer accused of dismembering three bodies and burning them in a Fort Worth dumpster three years ago.
Authorities arrested Jason Thornburg on a capital murder charge in connection to the deaths of David Lueras, Lauren Phillips and Maricruz Mathis.
The victim’s remains were found in the western portion of the city on September 22, 2021.
Investigators said he confessed to killing two women and one man at a motel in Euless. Surveillance video caught him carrying what detectives believe were the body parts in a plastic bin.
The footage also captured his SUV near the burning dumpster.
Police said Thornburg also admitted to being involved in another suspicious death in Tarrant County and Arizona.
If convicted, he faces the death penalty.
