FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News ) – A North Texas man is breathing a sigh of relief Thursday morning after Fort Worth fire crews rescued him following a 10 foot fall into a grain silo overnight.
It happened just after 11 p.m. on South Main Street near JPS Hospital in the medical district.
When firefighters arrived, they found the victim about five stories down. Crews lowered the man down using the Tower 8 ladder.
Mike Forbes with our media partner WFAA TV was on the scene and detailed what led up to the fall.
“This man and his buddy were exploring these grain silos when one of them fell off of a ladder inside one of the silos. It was a real tedious effort to get this man to safety,” he said.
The unidentified man is hospitalized in serious condition.
Firefighters said the victim and his friend were trespassing on the property.
