(WBAP/KLIF) – In April of 2021, Georgia Baldwin was accused of making threatening phone calls to an Arlington police spokesman, while suffering a severe mental health episode. She was later arrested, and charged with a felony. Following a psychiatric exam, Baldwin was found not competent to stand trial. A judge then ordered her to be sent to a state mental health hospital. Baldwin was held at the Tarrant County Jail while waiting to be transferred to the mental health facility.

In September of 2021, Baldwin was found unresponsive in her cell at the Tarrant County Jail, and was pronounced dead an hour later. An autopsy revealed that she had died of “Severe Hypernatremia,” which is a high concentration of sodium in the blood. After an unsuccessful mediation, Baldwin’s family accepted an offer of $750,000 dollars from Tarrant county.
