North Texans Feel Tremors from 5.1 Magnitude Earthquake out of West Texas

DALLAS/FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News ) – Some North Texans may have felt the ground shaking Monday night.

That’s because the U.S. Geological Survey said a 5.1 magnitude earthquake hit near Ackerly, about one hour north of Midland around 7:49.

Residents in Midland, Lubbock, Dallas and San Antonio reported feeling some tremors.

An “X”, formerly known as Twitter, user known as “Kavonni_B” said she recently moved from Los Angeles to Dallas and definitely felt some rumbling.

“May have been a small one but…the way things was rattling up in here…that was an earthquake,” she said.

No one was injured and there are no reports of damages so far.

The U.S. Geological Survey is asking anyone who may have felt the quake to fill out a form on their website.
