Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter Win at MTV Video Music Awards, Chappell Roan Gets Medieval

NEW YORK (AP) — The MTV Video Music Awards returned Wednesday night with a whole lot of Taylor Swift. She may soon become the most-awarded musician in VMAs history. She entered the show with 12 nominations. If she takes home eight awards, her career total will be 31, one ahead of current record-hold Beyonc笠Last year, Swift won nine awards. Swift and Post Malone took home the first award, for best collaboration, handed to them by Flavor Flav and Olympian Jordan Chiles.  Katy Perry performed and accepted the Video Vanguard Award. The VMAs kicked off at 8 p.m. EDT/PDT on Wednesday on MTV. Performers include Eminem, Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan.
