Kemp ISD Closed Wednesday Due to School Threat

KAUFMAN COUNTY (WBAP/KLIF News ) – Kemp ISD canceled classes Wednesday as authorities investigate a school threat.

In a Facebook post, officials told parents the district received word about the threats around 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

The district said while it believes the threat may be a hoax, it’s taking the step out of an abundance of caution.

“During this closure, Kemp Administration and Kemp ISD Police will conduct a thorough investigation,” said the statement.

Several other school districts across Texas also reported similar situations, including Dallas ISD.

Officials at Dallas ISD beefed up security today due to a threat against Skyline High School that circulated on social media.
