Texas Attorney General Sues Dallas City For Its Decision to Prohibit Firearms at Texas State Fair

DALLAS – (WBAP/KLIF) – Attorney General Ken Pazton is suing the City of Dallas and State Fair of Texas for unlawfully prohibiting firearms at government-owned property; violation of state law.

In August, the office of the Attorney General gave the City of Dallas 15 days notice to reverse the recent annoucement guns would not be allowed inside State Fair borders and activities. The city cited recent shootings at the fair. State law permits gun owners to carry weapons in places owned or leased by government entitites, inless otherwise statutorily prohibited. Dallas and the State Fair say they will not comply with state law.
