DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News ) – Dallas police arrested the man accused of shooting a toddler during a road rage incident. It happened on Sweetwater Drive near Ferguson Road and Lakeland Drive around 8 p.m. Sunday.
Court records show 50-year-old Jason Cain allegedly became angry when a family on a door dash delivery turned onto the street where he was riding his motorcycle.
The couple told police Cain fired several shots into their car after they swerved to avoid hitting him and honked their horn. Their two-year-old girl who’d been riding in the backseat was hit.
According to the arrest records, there were several people who witnessed the shooting and identified Cain, who lives in the neighborhood, to the police.
Police said Cain told officers at the scene that drug dealers were involved in the shooting. Officers eventually arrested Cain at his home, where they found several guns along with satanic and Nazi symbols.
Cain is facing three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and injury to a child. He’s being held in the Dallas County Jail on bonds totaling $850,000.
The toddler is still hospitalized.
