NORTH TEXAS (WBAP/KLIF News ) – The Richardson and Dallas police departments are warning parents to be on alert after two frightening situations involving adults targeting kids.

Both encounters were captured on surveillance video.

The first incident involves a suspicious vehicle following a student who was walking to JJ Pierce High School in Richardson just after 8 Monday morning.

Surveillance footage shows a car traveling back and forth and slowing down as the driver came near the girl.

The student is seen standing by a tree and then moving to hide by the homeowners car.

The residents said the visibly shaken girl rang the door bell for help. Richardson police released a photo of the driver in a dark-colored four door sedan believed to be a 2014-2016 Toyota Corolla.

About six minutes away, Dallas resident Genna Skolnik reported a terrifying incident involving her children and their friends.

It happened around 2:40 p.m. at a home in the 16900 block of Old Pond Drive.

She told our media partner WFAA TV home surveillance video captured a man in a white SUV trailing the group of kids.

Dallas police said the driver is a young Hispanic man who asked one of the kids to look at something in the back of his vehicle.

The child ran and surveillance video shows the man chasing the child before taking off.

“I don’t know if I’ll feel better or safe until they’re able to ID him and arrest him,” said Skolnik.

Dallas police are investigating this incident as an attempted kidnapping. Investigators said the driver is a young Hispanic man who asked one of the kids to look at something in the back of his vehicle.

Detectives are looking for a white Toyota Four-Runner with Texas license plate number THS9209. They believe a dark-colored Chevy pickup truck may also be involved.

Meanwhile, Richardson ISD said it’s increased security this week and is encouraging parents to speak with their children about safety.

Both departments said they’re not sure if the two incidents are connected. They’re urging anyone with information to come forward.
