DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News ) – A Dallas County grand jury will decide whether or not a security guard who fatally shot an alleged trespasser will face charges.
Dallas police said 33-year-old licensed security guard Michael Alexander was patrolling the Ari Motel at 4541 Preferred Place just North of I-20 around 12:45 p.m. Saturday when he saw two men who did not belong on the property.
Alexander told investigators after he asked them to leave and followed them out, 30-year-old Cameron Birdwell allegedly pointed a gun at him.
The two exchanged gunfire and Birdwell was hit. He was taken to a hospital where he later died.
No one else was injured in the shooting.
