(WBAP/KLIF) – FORT WORTH, TX – Fort Worth ISD hoped to have a five year plan approved by the start of the new school year, however the school board voted against it. Five of the seven present school board members did not approve of the plan which laid out several goals for the district, which included improving STAAR testing, improved communication with families, and better teacher training and retention. The presentation stated that a new plan is needed because of new state accountability guidelines, the continued pandemic recovery, and challenges created by funding shortages. The goal of having a plan approved by the district’s first day of school on August 13th is now up in the air.
