DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News ) – DART said repairs are more than halfway complete in downtown Dallas’ Central Business District days after a freak accident significantly disrupted services Sunday morning.
Four Dallas firefighters were injured when their truck drove off of 75 over southeast junction and landed on the DART tracks below at I-345 near South Good Latimer.
DART has bus shuttles set up at Cityplace Uptown, Deep Ellum, Pearl Arts District, West End, ENJ U union and Victory to get passengers to their connections.
In a social media post, the agency said repairs are on target to be completed by Wednesday evening.
“We appreciate the patience extended to the team as we work to complete these critical repairs following this unexpected incident,” said Bernard Jackson, Senior Vice President and Chief Operations Officer for DART. “This accident was especially impactful because of the extent of the damage to wires, poles and our Catenary system; moreover, the location of the crash is at the intersection of all four of our rail lines. A seamless customer journey is always our goal, and I was proud to see the DART Bus team support our Rail Operations team via the Bus Bridge. I am also happy to share that the repairs are nearing completion. We will communicate an additional update on Wednesday afternoon.”
DART said anyone wants additional information can call DART Customer Service at 214-979-1111, find service updates on the DART GoPass app, or sign up for DART Service Alerts at DART.org.
