(WBAP/KLIF) — Flight attendants are speaking out about a new contract offer from American Airlines after years of picketing.
Association of Professional Flight Attendants President Julie Hedrick says she’s hopeful the contract will meet the union’s expectations. She says details of the proposed agreement between the airline and it’s flight attendants will be released, Thursday.
Hedrick says the union’s executive board should approve the deal on Thursday, while an approval vote from the roughly 27,000 flight attendants is expected to come in September, as member voting is scheduled to occur during a 30-day period during August and September.
If approved, the deal would end heated contract negotiations that date back to before the COVID pandemic in 2019.
