NORTH TEXAS (WBAP/KLIF News ) – An update by cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike led to a major outage Friday morning that affected airlines and businesses worldwide.
Microsoft assured its customers the company was working to fix issues affecting its 365 apps and services. The tech giant said its cloud services are in the process of being restored.
A Fort Worth-based American Airlines representative confirmed this morning that its services have been impacted but as of 5 a.m., the carrier “was able to safely re-establish its operations.”
The FAA confirmed United Airlines, Delta and Allegiant Flights have all been grounded.
CrowdStrike said its rolling back an update that caused the glitch.
Shares of CrowdStrike plunged Friday morning. The stock tanked 20% in U.S. premarket trading.
