EULESS (WBAP/KLIF News ) – A Grand Prairie woman is back in jail on a higher bond for charges connected to the attempted drowning of a three-year-old Palestinian-American child in a Euless apartment pool back in May.
42-year-old Elizabeth Wolf is accused of making racist statements against Muslims before the incident after an argument with the child’s mother.
Witnesses told police Wolf appeared intoxicated before the argument escalated into attempts to drown the 3-year-old girl.
Wolf had been initially charged with attempted capital murder and injury to a child on a $40,000 bond.
Court records show a judge recently increased the bond to $1 million on the attempted capital murder charge and $15,000 on a charge of injury to a child.
Since the incident occurred, the Texas Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations and Euless police have been calling on the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office to add a hate crime charge to Wolf’s case.
CAIR also wants a federal investigation into the matter.
The DA’s Office is still reviewing the case.
