(WBAP/KLIF) – AUSTIN, TX – On Friday, the Texas Supreme Court decided to uphold the state’s ban on gender transition for minors. In an 8 to 1 decision, the state supreme court overturned a lower court’s order that had blocked the state ban from being enforced, while a challenge to the law was being heard. Senate Bill 14, which went into effect last September, bars health care providers from offering gender transition surgeries, puberty blocking medications, or hormone therapies to those under 18.
