SANSOM PARK (WBAP/KLIF News ) – The Sansom Park Police Department is looking for the parents of a child who was found wandering near the Sansom Ridge Apartments at 3100 La Junta Street near North Washington Avenue Wednesday night.
Officers responded to the call at 9:30 p.m. They went door to door and canvassed the area to try and locate the child’s family members, according to a news release.
As of Thursday morning, the child is still in state custody due to no one coming forward to claim him.
He’s black, 3 and a half inches tall, 25 to 30 pounds and had braids in his hair. He was wearing a white Nike shirt with blue lettering and light blue shorts.
Investigators believe the child had been walking around the complex for about an hour on Wednesday before someone called 911.
The child is unable to verbally tell officers his name, address or who his parents are.
