DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The Dallas City Council took a crucial step to bring another professional sports team to the city.
Dallas is getting a women’s soccer team from the new soccer league involving eight teams across the United States.
The City Council approved the move allowing the team to play in the iconic Cotton Bowl at Dallas’ Fair Park.
Mayor Eric Johnson says he’s thrilled Dallas will bring a professional women’s soccer team to the city.
Councilman Chad West said the move means so much to young girls.
The team will formally announce the move this week.
