(WBAP/KLIF) – Iranian news sources have confirmed that three explosions have been heard northwest of the Iranian city of Isfahan, which is located near the international airport, which is used by the Iranian military to house fighter jets. It is believed that it is the result of a retaliatory strike from Israel. Iran’s air defense systems have been activated in several provinces of the country. While Isfahan is a critical province that contains significant nuclear facilities, it is believed that the target of the strike was not nuclear.
At least eight flights have been diverted over Iranian airspace. Outgoing flights from Iranian airports have been canceled. Flights going to Tehran, Isfahan, and Shiraz have been suspended as well.
