PLANO (WBAP/KLIF News ) – Lightning from the severe storms that rolled through North Texas Monday night may have sparked a house fire in Plano, but officials have not confirmed it.
Plano Fire Rescue said flames tore through a house on Crystal Falls Drive in the Kings Ridge development between 8 and 9 p.m.
Witnesses reported hearing a loud cracking sound just before the flames erupted.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the blaze. Officials said it’s still too early to determine the exact cause of the fire but they are investigating lightning as a possibility.
The storm also left a trail of downed power lines, which lead to the closure of west 15th Street between Coit and Plano Parkway for several hours.
