Mesquite residents will start to see a change in how their trash is collected starting today.
The Mesquite City Council voted to move towards a collection process that will focus on “driveway service,” which means trash will be collected at the end of residents’ driveways.
The change will affect about 7,700 homes.
Collection days will not change, and the city will continue to assist elderly and disabled residents who let solid waste know they need help putting out their trash.
