Decatur ISD Votes Against Four-day School Week

DECATUR, TX – (WBAP/KLIF) – Decatur ISD is the latest Texas school district to consider making the switch to a four day school week. During a school board meeting on Monday night both parents and students shared their opinions on switching to a four day school week

Decatur ISD is considering the issue in a push to retain and recruit teachers, have less substitutes, and cut down on overtime. During the meeting, the superintendent stated that he recommends an implementation of a four day school week in the 2025/2026 school year. However, in a 4 to 3 vote the Decatur ISD board of trustees voted against implementing a four-day school week.
