DALLAS/ FT. WORTH, TX – (WBAP/KLIF) – Mike Zimmer is expected to replace Dan Quinn who left to take the job as the head coach of the Washington Commanders, after serving as the defensive coordinator for the Cowboys for the past three years,.
Previously Zimmer served as the defensive coordinator for the Atlanta falcons and the Cincinnati Bengals, before becoming the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings in 2014.
Zimmer is no stranger to the cowboys. He joined the team in 1994 as the assistant coach of the nickel defense, under Barry Switzer. He was then promoted to the defensive backs coach in 1995, and was promoted to defensive coordinator in 2000 until leaving the team.
