PLANO, TX – (WBAP/KLIF) – Plano is one step closer to figuring out how to govern short term rentals.

After few criminal incidents were traced back to short term rental homes, the city put together a task force to draw up some recommendations on how to manage short term rentals. The task force will soon release the results of it’s study, and present a list of actions that they’d like planning and zoning, and the Plano City Council to take.

There are currently 464 short term rentals in Plano, which mostly consist of single family homes. Plano has an interim ban on short term rentals which expires in May. The city council will take up the topic later this month.
