McKinney residents will soon have the opportunity to vote on upcoming projects in their community.
The McKinney City Council recently voted to call an election where voters will consider five general obligation bond propositions.
General obligation bonds are funds borrowed by the city for specific public purposes. Authorization to borrow these funds must be approved by voters and are repaid with property tax revenue.
Voting will take place on May 4th.
Voters will have the opportunity to cast their ballots “for” or “against” each of the following propositions:
Proposition A: The issuance of $106,000,000 for parks and recreation improvements
Proposition B: The issuance of $36,000,000 for a municipal courts facility
Proposition C: The issuance of $30,000,000 for public works south campus improvements
Proposition D: The issuance of $70,000,000 for public safety facilities
Proposition E: The issuance of $243,500,000 for street improvements
