The Construction Industry Education Foundation is working towards making sure high school kids know all their options.
They’re hosting their first ever high school trades day in the DFW on Friday, which aims to provide students with hands-on opportunities to learn more about the construction industry and how their future careers may operate in the field.
More than 340 registered students will get this opportunity. They’ll also be able to meet with professionals from 20 local construction entities.
“The first step to investing in the future of construction is sparking an interest in our high school students,” Executive Director of the Texas Masonry Council, Tony Topping, said. “Industry partnerships in programs like trades day are essential to building pathways for the skilled artisans the industry urgently needs.”
The event will take place on Friday, February 9th from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Collin College Technical Campus in Allen.
