Dallas County Sheriff’s Department to Host Firearm Disposal Event

The Dallas County Sheriffs Office is banning together for its first gun buyback program.

This initiative is aimed at helping law enforcement officers educate community members on how to properly dispose of unwanted firearms.

Handgun owners will be given a $100.00 gift card and long guns will receive a $125.00 gift card.

The buyback program is only available to private residents of Dallas County. Firearm dealers and manufacturers are not eligible and there is a limit of three firearms per resident. No ID will be required to participate.

The event will take place on Saturday, February 10 from 9 a.m.- 12 p.m. at the Dallas County Sheriff’s Training Academy located at 8401 South Polk Street Dallas, TX 75232.
