ADDISON (WBAP/KLIF News ) – An Addison flight student is dead after stealing a plane from the facility and crashing it in Fannon County Wednesday night.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said 23-year-old Logan Timothy James of North Carolina took a Cessna 172 from ATP flight school.
The plane went down in an open field nine miles Northeast of telephone, near the Red River. James was the only occupant.
Authorities are looking into why he stole the plane or whether the crash was intentional or accidental.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
